Chimney Caps

Custom Chimney Caps Dallas-Fort Worth

Made-to-measure caps in copper, galvanized, or painted steel.

Chimney caps that actually fit

A chimney cap does three jobs: it keeps water out of the chimney, it keeps animals out of the chimney, and — visually — it's often a major architectural element. Off-the-shelf caps fit none of these jobs well. Custom caps fit all three.

Knox fabricates chimney caps in our 4,000 sq ft sheet metal shop, sized to your exact chimney and detailed to your home's architecture. Copper for premium and historic homes; galvanized or painted steel for cost-sensitive projects — all made to measure.

What custom gets you

Made to measure, not pulled from a shelf

Exact fit, matching profile, animal screen integrated.

  1. Measured to your chimney

We measure on-site — brick, stone, or stucco — and fabricate to your chimney's exact footprint.

  2. Copper, galvanized, or painted steel

Copper for premium homes, galvanized or painted steel for other projects. All with proper drip edges and overhangs.

  3. Integrated animal screen

Integrated mesh screen — galvanized, copper, or stainless mesh sized to keep birds, squirrels, and raccoons out without compromising draft.

  4. Multi-flue caps

Chimneys with multiple flues get engineered caps that maintain proper draft separation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Copper or steel?

Copper for premium and historic homes — it patinas beautifully and lasts a century. Painted or galvanized steel for cost-sensitive projects — still custom-fit, just lower material cost.

Will the cap hurt my chimney draft?

A properly designed cap won't — we maintain required flue area plus margin. Poorly sized caps can reduce draft; we don't build those.

Can you integrate a flue damper?

Yes — top-sealing dampers integrated with the cap are a common upgrade for existing chimneys.

What about multi-flue chimneys?

We build engineered caps for multi-flue chimneys with proper separation and individual screen sections.
